NINETEEN: DIY HOLIDAYS

November 28, 2017

This year I wanted to include the girls in making our holiday decor. They love to be helpful around the house, especially when it involves doing some sort of art that will be displayed in our house. I am pretty minimal when it comes to color so everything has a sort of nordic feel, but that makes everything even easier to make in my opinion.

We used air dry clay and cookie cutters to make our white star ornaments. I rolled out the clay on a piece of parchment and the girls stamped the star shapes. We let them dry on our radiator overnight and the next morning…TA DA! ornaments ready to go on the tree.

I used some clippings from our tree and attached them with floral tape to the bottom of an embroidery hoop for our wreath for our front door. The rest of the clippings are placed in vases through out the house.

Sienna Helped me with stringing our wooden bead garland. It was a great way to work on her fine motor skills and It kept her attention for quite a while.

We also HAD to write a letter to Santa! I hope that he will enjoy Lyla’s portrait of him…… and  I’m sure he won’t mind the hot coco stains 🙂
